As an Indian, I've grown up knowing people from the slums and always wondered how I could help out and make a difference. These slums are breeding grounds for dumps of waste and after coming to a city like New York, I thought to myself.. can only punitive measures help make a difference?
Here's an understanding of how different countries manage their waste, and what are the drivers and inhibitors within those countries that channel organization of the waste trade.
After analyzing the landscape, I chose the direction of shifting from a bottom up to a top down approach.
