instead of advertising for donations, how might we shift people’s opinion and help them empathize with the cause?

Sure We Can is a non-profit recycling centre, community space and sustainability hub in Brooklyn where canners, who are people that collect cans and bottles from the streets to make a living, come together with students and neighbours through recycling, composting, gardening and arts.

Canner stories Campaign

SWC was looking to generating capital to retain its plot of land. Instead of advertising for donations we thought how might we shift people’s opinion of the organization and help them empathize with the cause?

Introducing 'canner stories.' The community of canners is a vital and celebrated part of the organization. The campaign aims at giving a sneak peek in their lives and inform people about the initiative and have them empathize with the community.

Here’s a story of Ana, she was one of the first canners and has been here since. The movie takes a personalized look at her life and what she is outside of SWC.

Cross-platform application

We converted stories in a postcard format to be used for social media channels - Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The projects were managed on HootSuite and planned according to research conducted for the most effective hours converting into maximum clicks.
